Our piano teacher Daniel, in Garden District, offers classical piano lessons for ages 7 and above, from beginner to very advanced. This piano teacher has a Ph.D. in Musick with doctoral level training in musick and extensive experience teaching and performing classical piano. Daniel has been teaching piano lessons since 2011. His solo performance work encompasses a vast repertoire, with particular strength in stylistically informed interpretation and structural clarity. His performance experience is closely connected to his scholarly and pedagogical work, supporting performances that are grounded in careful score study, historical awareness, technical control, and refined tone production. Daniel also has experience performing piano in chamber music settings with instrumentalists and vocalists in recital and concert contexts in Canada, Spain, and the United Kingdom. His chamber work includes collaborative repertoire presented in professional and academic venues, with an approach grounded in attentive listening, rhythmic stability, and stylistically informed ensemble playing. Daniel has extensive experience performing as a piano accompanist for instrumentalists and vocalists in instructional, rehearsal, exam, and performance settings, offering sensitivity and reliability to performers. In addition to his performance work, he has taught in a number of formal settings, including the Glenn Gould School of Music, the University of Cambridge, and currently, music history at the University of Toronto. He is the author of multiple peer reviewed books and articles, including publications with Oxford University Press.
