Our piano teacher Kirsten, in Bramalea, offers piano lessons in all styles of music for ages 5 and above, from beginner to advanced levels. This piano teacher is pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Music Education degree, expected to complete by 2026, and has a wealth of experience both teaching and performing on piano. Kirsten has been teaching piano lessons since 2021. Kirsten will be graduating from the University of Toronto in June 2026 with her formal music degree, specializing in classical piano, as well as a Certificate in Piano Pedagogy and a Certificate in Music Entrepreneurship. Her academic achievements have garnered her the prestigious University of Toronto Scholar Award, the Jazz Scholarship, and the Doreen Hall Scholarship. In her music career, Kirsten has performed and competed in numerous solo piano competitions and recitals. She has also completed multiple Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) examinations, earning First Class Honours with Distinction. More recently, she has performed in her university’s annual Vocal Féte and Brass-Wind-String Féte, immersing herself in the realm of collaborative piano. She has accompanied instrument and voice students at the University of Toronto during in-class coaching, rehearsals, recitals, and graduate final juries. With nearly 15 years of classical piano training and a focused study in the field, Kirsten brings a strong foundation in piano pedagogy. She is committed to ongoing professional development and regularly participates in Royal Conservatory of Music teacher workshops and has attended the Ontario Music Educators’ Association (OMEA) Conference twice, engaging with current pedagogical research, curriculum updates, and best practices in music education. While she teaches a broad range of students, she has strong expertise in RCM piano and theory. Kirsten’s piano teaching approach fosters a supportive, engaging environment that balances technical development with musical creativity and authentic expression.
