Our piano teacher Jing offers piano lessons in all styles of music for ages 5 and above, from beginner to intermediate levels. This piano teacher has a Trinity College of London Licentiate Diploma in Music and a wealth of experience both teaching and performing on piano. Jing has been teaching piano lessons since 2020. In his career, he has gained experience as a solo pianist, having performed in prestigious competitions, such as the ASEAN Chopin Competition and the Roland Piano Competition. He gained exposure to high-level performance standards, learned from other talented pianists, and further developed his own artistry and stage presence. Jing also has experience performing on piano with a band. He has worked collaboratively with other musicians in a song-composing society, where he performed original songs composed and arranged by him and his peers. Jing has also served as a piano accompanist in a variety of settings, most notably through his role leading congregational singing from the piano at his church. In addition, he has performed as the pianist for choir competitions, providing both support and musical leadership to ensure cohesive and expressive performances. Through his diverse music experiences, Jing has learned many skills which help him to support his students. He has mastered perfect pitch, which allows him to identify and reproduce notes with precision, as well as the ability to play by ear, which helps him to connect music theory with practical playing. Beyond performance, he also actively composes original songs, exploring both classical and contemporary styles, which brings a creative and well-rounded perspective to his teaching. Jing’s students describe his teaching style as patient, enjoyable, and communicative— creating a supportive environment where they can learn piano with confidence and enthusiasm.
